Moyer, Sherwood Associates, Inc. is a retainer executive search firm serving client companies throughout the country. We specialize in in public relations/communications, investor relations, and related fields. We have had office locations in Stamford, Connecticut and New York and we generally interview at our office on 44th Street, at client sites and in other cities as we travel on our searches. We are a member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants.
David Moyer has over twenty years of recruiting experience, including over eight years with two of the country’s leading executive search firms, Paul Stafford Associates, a mid-sized, six-office general management firm, one of the first search firms founded. Moyer later moved from Stafford to Fenwick Partners, a pioneer in developing search technology. Fenwick was later acquired by Heidrick & Struggles. Both Stafford and Fenwick were members of the AESC. Prior to Stafford, Moyer worked for a recruiting firm that specialized in corporate communications and investor relations, first in New York, and then Los Angeles. He began his career in the Public Affairs Department of Grumman Corporation after earning a B.A. in history from SUNY Purchase.
Coming from the communications field, David understands the concerns and unique position within corporations that today’s professionals have. Having completed searches for CCO’s, VPs, Directors and Senior Writers, for organizations as diverse as Weyerhaeuser, Skanska, GE Capital, Pitney Bowes, United Technologies, IBM, Mutual of Omaha and the Rockefeller Foundation he interprets the sometimes misunderstood world of PR to corporate management. Correspondingly, he is known for counseling candidates being considered on searches on companies’ history with the function, likely perceptions of candidates’ careers, effects of complex compensation packages and long-term growth prospects. He’s written articles for business publications and has given speeches to a number of professional groups. David reads widely, sails and serves on the board of The Helicon Foundation. He lives in Greenwich, Connecticut and Manhattan with his wife Alice Schroeder, a corporate director, public speaker, investor and author of The Snowball, the definitive biography of Warren Buffett.
